Well, technically, no crimes happened during the allotted 3 hours and 35 minute broadcast between 6:25 p.m. and 11 p.m. It could be everyone was tucked away in their homes or sports bar in complete focus that they forgot the potential for criminal mischief. Or everyone in the Coral Gables Police Department was too busy watching the game to notice the crimes happening around them. Perhaps, a combination of the both.
Regardless these are the five crimes that happened near the campus around the time of the Superbowl:
4:58:01 PM – Fifty-year-old Thierry Painparay was cited on a charge of allowing passengers under the age of 18 in his car for not fastening their seat belts.
5:05:28 PM – Eighty-year-old Gerda Marchese was cited on a charge of careless driving at the Alhambra Circle and Blue Road roundabout.
10:12:23 PM – Twenty-year-old Keri Bruner was cited for running a red light at the intersection of Levante Avenue and Red Road.
10:24:44 PM – Twenty-one-year-old Yunwei Jin was also cited for running the red light at the intersection of Levante Avenue and Red Road.
11:33:05 PM – Thirty-five-year-old Tracy Kohn was cited on a charge of having unlawful tint on car’s windows.
