Late Thursday September 26th Juan Carlos Roman, 27, “was performing a work task.” He had driven a UM Facilities golf cart to parking lot #716, which is located near the alumni center on Brescia Avenue.
Roman stated he left the golf cart running at 11:20 p.m. He returned 10 minutes later at 11:30 p.m. and the golf cart was gone.
In a harrowing 20-minute search the golf cart was found 0.43 miles away at 5600 San Amaro Drive. It was unoccupied.
The report states that “the vehicle was found in good condition with nothing taken from the interior. The vehicle tag and decal were attached.”
The vehicle was processed by UM Crime Scene with negative results.
The golf cart bandits are still at large!
